We’re home, after what apparently was almost a month but absolutely doesn’t feel like it.

We’ve had our traditional two weeks camping in Kastri, Pelion, under the olive trees and amid hordes of children. This year I managed to eat at the restaurant on the hill above the campground, which used to be called “Eleni’s” and is now “To Ktima”. It was as excellent as I remember from my last meal there (pre-covid).

On our way out we stayed a couple of nights with Achilleas and Katerina in Neochori: we made friends with their dogs, we played music both Irish and Greek, and I was visited by a truly spectacular longhorn beetle. Both boys enjoyed the drumkit, and Yannos enjoed the daouli.

The rest of the time was in Katerini, trying to work in the heat. At least the boys got to spend some time with their grandparents, and we got out for the occasional evening out together.

It’s been stupid hot, and will continue stupid hot this week: predictions are for 37ºC which I must say is not the best for getting back into a work routine.
