• The Elements of Typographic Style, Robert Bringhurst’s typographers bible. (Nijhof & Lee, which I’ve never allowed myself to go into before because they have a whole typography section, but when you’ve got Kiwi visitors and they want to check it out…)
  • Peter McIntyre’s New Zealand. Another visitor-inspired find, this was on the Spui Boekenmarkt for just five euro (thanks Flo and Kristine), and was given by the Philips’ to the Mr and Mrs Klaasen in December 1970. It’s a collection of ink sketches, oil paintings, and short bits of descriptive text, with lots of lovely Kiwi stereotyping.
  • Herinnering van een Engelbewaarder, W.F. Hermans — a classic Dutch author, I hope this one lives up to Nooit Meer Slapen and Onder Professoren.
