I’m launching a new unbusiness venture.

Every now and then I get asked to proofread something written in English, usually by a second-language English speaker. I’m one of those odd sorts who actually enjoys that sort of thing, but not enough to do it for free. I’ve always felt odd asking for money though, and even more so nowadays with a fulltime job. Now I’ve hit upon the perfect solution: payment in books.

People who’ve known me for a while will know that I’ve tried various alternatives in the past (mainly beer, but also a boat trip and a second-hand leather jacket). These, and anything else your fancy comes up with, are still open (well, now I have a leather jacket so maybe that’s not such a good idea). In particular, folks who know me generally get the “buy me a beer sometime” discount. But please spread the word to anyone else you know (final date for UvA theses is pretty soon, right?) who might be interested.

Send them to the permanent page, because I’ve proofread that very carefully.
