WP upgrade, bugs

I just upgraded my Wordpress installation to 2.0.1. If you spot any glitches, please let me know. I already know that posts say “0 comments” even when they’ve been commented, I guess this is my old theme gone out of date. I might fix it… or I might just wait until the site-wide redesign.

WP upgrade

WordPress 2.0 is out, and I’ve just upgraded. If anything breaks, let me know. (First impressions: it’s slick.)

Update: of course all my feeds got reset. Sorry about that. Which means (unless I missed something) that this is going to happen to every WordPress user over the next week or so. Cue 500 unread entries in [...]

Comments still broken

I just upgraded WP and SK, and commenting still seems buggy. Rather than fixing it properly, I’m trying a new hacked-up solution. So if the comments explode with spam, it’s my fault. Promise (cross my heart and hope to die) to clean up if it all turns to custard. (Oh, I’ve disabled trackbacks ‘cos they [...]

Comments broken

Software rot seems to have hit my comment-spam-filtering plugin. So until then, if commenting gets you an error message, it seems that the comment is getting through [...]

Magic word comment spamtrap

A couple of thoughts about trapping comment spam: my first idea was, add a textfield requiring a significant word from the blog entry in question. Simple for a person to produce, and in practise you just need to check if the word occurred in the entry at all, skipping a list of obvious stop words [...]

Upgrade

I just upgraded to Wordpress 1.5.1. Ok, this shouldn’t be a major issue, but I’d done some ill-advised hacking… So if anything now fails to work, please email me and let me know. I’m also trying out a new spam blocking plugin, we’ll see how that works.

Comment spam

To my disgust, I’ve been struck by comment spam. Naturally, it’s happened while I don’t have easy access to a machine, so I’m shutting down commenting entirely until I get this sorted out. I’m sure the three people who have previously posted non-spam comments will cope.
