I went into Scheltema this morning. I wasn’t even looking for a book… but I got sidetracked (it’s a five-storey bookstore, in retrospect it was inevitable). I got caught by this.
That’s Moomin: The Complete Tove Jansson Comic Strip. (It’s actually “Volume 1″ of “The Complete…”, projected to run to five volumes, which to my mind is a bit of dodgy advertising, but whatever.)
My day is complete.

Yum! Tove Jansson’s brother took over the strip at some point (IIRC), so presumably this set will be covering her tenure.
My own Moominary acquisitions for this year: A very funky orange mug and (at last!) Det Osynliga Barnet (The Invisible Child), a collection of Moomin short stories.
Envy envy. Especially as I won’t be able to read them. Sigh. (Also: nice mug.)
You can read them in English or Dutch translation, and if you ever wanted to start learning Swedish (yes, I know, Greek has priority), parallel Tove Jansson would be a good way to go.
Hm, that would indeed be fun. I wonder if I can find parallel Tove Jansson in Greek? …
No?
No μουμινάκι? Tragic…
